Downloading the software is free

Igor™ and IgorImage™ may be downloaded for a free trial period of a month with no obligations whatsoever. After a month the programs will stop working. If you decide you don't want to buy the software, you don't have to do anything else.

If you want to pay for and continue to use Igor™ software after the free trial period, you should purchase a license. Each license will give you the right to use the software on two different computers. To get a license, you will need to do a few things:

1. Register your information on our site here.

2. Click on the appropriate PayPal button below to go to the PayPal site and pay for the selected software. (Make sure you have cookies activated)

3. Once you receive a confirmation email from us that your licenses are ready, start your copy of the program and activate the license (In Igor™ you go to the main menu item Igor/Registration and in IgorImage™ it's IgorImage/Register). You will need a live internet connection for the activation. After this your copy of the program will work on the machine it was activated on, with no internet connection necessary.

Why we sell things this way

We looked into a variety of internet sales models before coming up with this one. We have tried to balance reliability, security, and ease of use -- sacrificing a little of the last for a lot of the first two.

Reliability

PayPal, a respected internet entity, takes care of our payments.

We do the rest of the coding by hand, once PayPal emails us the details of your transaction. We hand-enter license data into our database, which is what your copies of the software access when you activate licenses. We then email you that you can activate your licenses.

When you start it up, the Igor™ software will assist you in activating the license. If anything goes wonky, you can email us or ask for assistance on the forums, which we keep an eye on.

We will do whatever we can to make sure your experience with Igor™ is a satisfying one.

Security

Buying Igor™ is reasonably secure. PayPal takes care of the financial transactions for us. We don't have any access to your financial data and don't have any of it on our server, not even your mailing address. We don't need to know that stuff, and we'd feel awful if somehow someone swiped it from us.

If you register with us (which you will only need to do if you want to buy the software), all we will have is your name and email address. We will not disseminate this information unless absolutely necessary, or sell it under any circumstances.

Ease of Use

It's pretty easy to register for and buy Igor™ software. You just have to remember to register on our site before you buy the software. If you fail to register before buying we will send you a reminder email.

It's not one-click shopping, but it's designed to get you your licenses in a timely way with personal attention.
